Ambassador of Azerbaijan stressed the importance of parliamentary component in the development of mutually beneficial and friendly relations between two countries and expressed readiness to promote further expanding of contacts between deputies of Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Ambassador particularly stressed on the Azerbaijan assistance to Ukraine in this difficult time and said that this problem is very painful for his country. Azerbaijan supports territorial integrity of Ukraine, and this was also claimed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The Chairperson of the Committee thanked the Azerbaijan Ambassador and, agreeing with the importance of developing inter-parliamentary relations between two countries, informed that at the beginning of February a deputy group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on inter-parliamentary relations with Azerbaijan Republic will be formed. The Parties are sure that persistent mutual work of deputy groups of both Parliaments will strengthen Ukrainian-Azerbaijan partner political and economic relations not only in the bilateral dimension, but in international organizations, such as GUAM, PACE, UNO and others, as well. As a powerful impetus for such cooperation, the Parties named mutual visits of leaders of both countries planned for 2015.

H.Hopko and E.Madatli also discussed prospects and possibilities for developing cooperation between two countries in the spheres of education, culture, and science.
